Better funding is key to improving the Balearic Protected Marine Areas (AMPs). It’s essential to know how much we are investing, how much we need and where the money will come from. At the end of 2018 Marilles commissioned an exhaustive study to calculate how much has been invested in the Balearic AMPs in recent years.

The study involved the participation of more than 70 experts and the analysis of a large amount of often widely-dispersed information. The study’s findings will be analysed with Balearic AMP staff to identify how this information can be obtained on a regular basis and to create annual follow-ups on how investment in AMPs is evolving in the long term.
