The third edition of this series of events organised by Marilles Foundation provides a forum for experts in restoration, invasive species, and fisheries to exchange ideas
Marilles Foundation, in collaboration with Sa Nostra Foundation, is organising the third annual Conference on the Conservation of Balearic Marine Biodiversity to bring together expert voices on key issues for the protection of the Balearic Sea.
This series of three events provides a forum for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and the development of proposals for members of the scientific community, public authorities, and civil society.
This year, the chosen themes are ecological restoration, invasive species. and fisheries. Representatives from central government and leading scientific institutions will attend the morning sessions at Can Tàpera, the headquarters of Sa Nostra Foundation in Palma. They can also be followed live on Marilles’s YouTube channel.
The three meetings, which include presentations, roundtable discussions, and sessions for drafting technical proposals, are organised as follows:
22 October – Marine ecological restoration: science and management.
29 October – Invasive species: problems and possible solutions.
5 November – Fisheries: sustainable practices and success stories.
Following the conference, as with previous editions, Marilles will submit three documents to the competent public authorities containing the management proposals and analyses emerging from the working groups – a useful tool for advancing the conservation and protection of the Balearic Sea.
Registration is now open and available via this link.
