Our activity at Marilles is growing and so is our team. Helena Bezzina Sánchez-Barcáiztegui has joined us as technical secretary.
Helena is responsible for managing internal administrative procedures. Among other functions, she will also be in charge of organising and following-up events and supporting different projects at the Foundation. She has wide experience in organisation and management and has also worked in companies related to the sea, such as Club Náutico de Santa Ponça.
Helena's link with the sea is that of a lifetime in the literal sense. Her grandfather was an admiral and, since her birth, she has been related to the sea and the nautical and regatta world. ‘I was a fish in the water from a very young age; I was there all day long,’ she explains. Helena enjoys the sea in all its forms, from diving to sailing on board a snipe, as well as collecting: Her house, she told us, is ‘a real maritime museum.’ Regarding her new post at Marilles, ‘Making my passion for the sea part of my job is a great joy for me,’ she says.
