The Vuelta a sa Porrassa (Sa Porrassa Challenge) has once again brought together athletes, environmental organisations, and lovers of the sea, combining sport, community, and marine conservation.
More than 280 people took part last Saturday, 10th October, in the fourth annual non-competitive swim, which puts the marine environment of the municipality of Calvià into focus.
During the event, Aniol Esteban, development director at Marilles, highlighted the importance of such events in raising awareness of the ecological richness of an environment that is much more than just a tourist attraction.
The swim around the islet of Sa Porrassa is organised by Mar de Fondo and ZEL Mallorca, with the support of Marilles. On this occasion, Mallorca Preservation, Shark Med, and the Palma Aquarium Foundation also took part.
