The biodiversity of shallow bays is often largely unknown. That is why Marilles organises workshops and other activities to raise public awareness of the species that inhabit these areas.
One of these workshops took place on 25 July in Portocolom (Mallorca). Residents of the area took to the waters of s’Arenal Petit to discover the hidden riches of this bay. During the guided snorkelling session, they learnt to identify species and observe the marine environment with a more mindful eye.
This activity was organised in collaboration with the Cleanwave Foundation, Observadores del Mar, MARE, and the Balearic Sea Report.
