On the 5th of May, at 7 p.m., in the Auditorium of the "SA NOSTRA" Culture Centre (Palma), we will be screening the documentary Vides de sal. This is an ethnographic audiovisual that presents a lively, current, and realistic portrait of the situation of fishing based on different life experiences. It shows the challenges faced by the sector in a context of overexploitation of resources, climate change and accelerated growth of the tourist industry and maritime economic activities in Catalonia.
After the screening, we will talk with Jaume Amengual, skipper and fishing teacher; Sandra Mallol and Beatriz Guijarro, researchers at the IEO Baleares; and Aniol Esteban, director of the Marilles Foundation.
The session is free and open to everyone. Advance booking is recommended by writing to info@marilles.org
