Fisheries, governance, and resilience to climate change come together at a roundtable in Maó

‘We have good highways for participation, but they often have too little traffic.’ This is one of the reflections that our colleague, Toni Font, expressed during the roundtable Marine resilience against climate change, held on 27 February at the Ateneo of Mahón. Marina Tysoe, coordinator of the Land Stewardship Initiative of the Balearic Islands, and environmentalist Irene Estaún also participated.

During the event, Font spoke about the role of fishing and participatory governance in marine conservation. All three participants focused their reflections on a specific example: the project that is being launched in Illa de l'Aire, funded by Marilles Foundation and Menorca Preservation.

This roundtable was organised by GOB Menorca and Menorca Preservation  to explore practical solutions for ecological resilience in key sectors of the island of Menorca.
