The Mediterranean Sailors' Association (ADN) and Marilles Foundation have jointly produced a practical document for sailors with clear guidelines on how to reduce their impact and protect marine biodiversity, promoting a more respectful approach to sailing in the marine environment.
The decalogue offers clear and accessible guidelines to help sailors make the right decisions to protect marine biodiversity and ensure respectful coexistence at sea.
It includes practical recommendations and useful links that allow sailors to consult current regulations, such as those on marine protected areas, up-to-date information on recreational fishing, and official tools such as the Balearic government's Recreational Fishing Diary. It also summarises how to access applications that show where to anchor without damaging Posidonia oceanica or participate in citizen science initiatives.
To reach as many sailors as possible, the document has been published in three languages: Spanish, Catalan, and English and is available for download at the bottom of the page.
